Toronto Maple Leafs: Add Toronto to the list of teams interested in adding one-time 40-goal scorer Jeff O'Neill. The Hurricanes forward, who has just eight goals in 46 games so far this season, is friends with former Carolina teammate and current Maple Leaf Gary Roberts.

Philadelphia Flyers: Bob Clarke thought the Flyers could survive without Eric Desjardins, but when Marcus Ragnarsson sprained his rotator cuff, the Flyers GM realized he'll have to seek a defenseman via trade soon. Trouble is, no team is eager to part with a top-four blue-liner, so Philadelphia might only get a stopgap.

Phoenix Coyotes: Phoenix has also had some hard luck on the blue line with the season-ending knee injury to David Tanabe. But Coyotes GM Mike Barnett told The Arizona Republic that he's not going to make a knee-jerk trade for the first player available.
