Mets downgrade expectations in right
After flirting with the notion of signing Vladimir Guerrero, the Mets have set their sights on Karim Garcia.

Last week, the Mets were getting their fans hopes up
with talk of making an offer to Vladimir Guerrero.
This week, the talk is of Karim Garcia. You can
forgive Mets fans for feeling something of a letdown.
The New York offer to Vlad was pretty much a joke. Why they even bothered is open to debate. There are really only two possibilities:
1. They were sending a message to their fans that they
care.
2. They actually thought it was a viable offer.
