Florida Panthers: Florida rookie forward Nathan Horton has a torn rotator cuff and might be out for the rest of the season. The 18-year-old third overall pick in the 2003 draft was just starting to heat up and was perhaps the Panthers' best skater in the past few weeks.

New York Islanders: Cliff Ronning's fire for hockey burned brighter in last spring's playoffs while playing for Minnesota, but he couldn't find a job until last week. The newest member of the New York Islanders might make his season debut Tuesday night against the Rangers.

New York Rangers: As if the Rangers need any more reasons to dislike Islanders captain Michael Peca, who was accused of deliberately sticking out his knee in a collision with Blueshirts forward Jamie Lundmark earlier this season. Some MSG broadcasters said Peca deliberately flipped a puck at Rangers defenseman Brian Leetch's head, but even Leetch said he didn't believe it was intentional.
