Detroit Tigers: Last week I wrote that going to the Tigers would make sense for Ivan Rodriguez at this stage of his career. Today, both Gene Guidi of the Detroit Free Press and Tom Gage of the Detroit News are pushing for such a deal from the opposite side: that it would give the team a big boost. Guidi writes that Rodriguez is showing a "strong" interest in the Tigers, a team that had their entreaties to Miguel Tejada turned aside. He writes that Pudge would bring the team some much-needed credibility while Gage suggests that simply making some big noise about going after him would do the team a world of good with their fans.
