Why to watch
The Rose Bowl couldn't be any happier. It not only gets the traditional Big-10 vs. Pac-10 matchup that it yearned, but it also gets top ranked USC, which has won eight national championships and has appeared in an unprecedented 28 Rose Bowls, and will be in search of its ninth national title when it meets Big Ten champion Michigan, which is making its league's best 18th appearance, in the 90th "Grandaddy of them all". After getting shafted from an opportunity to play for an outright national championship in the Sugar Bowl, the Trojans will have to settle for a split national championship if they beat the Wolverines. But that's a big "IF".
