Colorado Avalanche: Colorado's Peter Forsberg won't play Friday night against Anaheim, but the Avalanche haven't written him off for Saturday against Los Angeles. The Avalanche still say Forsberg is out indefinitely, but that date is definitely getting closer.

Anaheim Mighty Ducks: Jilted Mighty Ducks fans won't get a chance to vent at departed franchise player Paul Kariya on Friday night when the Colorado Avalanche come to Anaheim for the first time this season. Kariya remained in Denver because of his sprained wrist, so Ducks fans will just have to come back Jan. 30.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere isn't getting much game action while he's been in his current slump, so he's had to work harder in practice. The Mighty Ducks goalie is 4-13-2 with a 2.91 goals-against average.
