Tampa Bay Buccaneers: DL Ellis Wyms and FB Darian Barnes became the latest Bucs placed on injured reserve. Both were injured in Sunday's 16-3 win over the Houston Texans. Wyms tore the MCL in his left knee and Barnes suffered a left shoulder sprain in the game. The Bucs signed FB Cecil Martin and DE Reinard Wilson to fill their spots. The most intriguing addition is Wilson, who was a former FSU defensive lineman and the Cincinnati Bengals' No. 1 selection (14th overall) in the 1997 draft. "He has done some good things in this league," coach Jon Gruden told the Tampa Tribune. "We're hoping that we can plug him in our program here, take him into the offseason and help him find his stride and become the pro player everybody thought he could be coming out of Florida State." Wilson registered nine sacks in 2001, but beyond that has yet to make his mark.

New York Giants: The team has experienced a multitude of injuries on the year, and keeps getting worse. According to the New York Times CB Ralph Brown was placed on the injured reserve list Tuesday, making him the third cornerback on the club sidelined for the season. Brown reinjured his separated shoulder on the first drive of Sunday night's 45-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He separated that shoulder earlier this season and missed three games. The Giants signed CB Ray Green, whom they had cut earlier in the season, to fill out the secondary.

Jacksonville Jaguars: RB Fred Taylor is on pace to rush for a career-high 1,437 yards, but his recent problems receiving the ball could force him to lose playing time next year. Taylor has been a reliable receiver in the past, but under first-year coach Jack Del Rio he's had some critical drops, most notably a third down play from the Patriots' 5-yard line in the second quarter, which could've tied the game at 10. Taylor is second on the team this season with 45 catches for 335 yards and a touchdown, but Del Rio wouldn't rule out substituting a tailback with surer hands for Taylor on third downs next season. "We don't want to become too predictable in terms of substituting on specific plays with specific people, but as a coaching staff, we'll look at all those areas," Del Rio told the Florida Times-Union.
