Detroit Red Wings: Curtis Joseph's agent, Don Meehan, told The Toronto Globe and Mail that the Red Wings goalie will go to AHL Grand Rapids Saturday after clearing waivers if Detroit still can't work out a trade for their extra goalie. Meehan said CuJo needs to play on a regular basis, which wasn't happening in Detroit even with Dominik Hasek injured.

New York Islanders: Overseeing the Islanders' slide near the bottom of the NHL standings caused New York GM Mike Milbury to declare "Somebody's gotta go. Anybody" if things don't improve. That attempt at motivation might inspire more bad play as players seek an escape from Long Island. Toronto GM John Ferguson Jr. is interested in underperforming Isles captain Michael Peca, who recently expressed disgust with some indifferent teammates.

Anaheim Mighty Ducks: Three Stanley Cups in 13 impressive seasons didn't mean much to most of Hockeytown's fans at Joe Louis Arena on Wednesday night. Red Wings fans booed Sergei Fedorov at every chance during his first appearance in Detroit as a member of the Mighty Ducks, but he shouldn't take it personally.
