Baltimore Ravens: Line Judge Carl Peterson was hit on the chin during a celebration and suffered a concussion. LB Ed Hartwell raced in to leap on the pile in the end zone after a Ray Lewis interception and his shoulder pad clipped Peterson and sent him tumbling to the ground. Peterson was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center as a precaution, but he was lucid and had feeling in all his extremities, according to the Washington Post. He later was released. "I was celebrating with my guys," Hartwell told the Post. "I didn't even feel it, to tell you the truth. I saw him on the ground and I was like, 'What happened to him?' And they said I nicked him. I'll give out a formal apology: I never tried to knock him down. I was just trying to celebrate with Ray on his interception for a touchdown."
Pittsburgh Steelers: LT Marvel Smith's triumphant return to the lineup after missing most of the season with a pinched nerve in his neck and shoulder lasted all of six quarters. Smith played a full game last week but the injury flared up and according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette he had to leave the game in the second half. In Smith's absence, G Alan Faneca to move to left tackle and OL Keydrick Vincent to play left guard. Follwing the game Smith said he could not comment on the injury.
