Dallas Stars: Dallas head coach Dave Tippett had surgery to remove a disc from his neck, but the pain in the neck better known as the Stars remains. The team went 0-1-1 while Tippett was in hospital, so he canceled a planned day off and had the team practice Sunday.

Yzerman

Detroit Red Wings: So much for resting Steve Yzerman on one half of games on consecutive nights. Yzerman scored the tying goal against Minnesota on Saturday night, a day after he and the Red Wings beat Chicago in overtime.

Atlanta Thrashers: Thrashers GM Don Waddell told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "There's a lot of talk, but nothing is happening," regarding trades. Even though Atlanta could use someone like Mark Parrish of the Islanders, Waddell is probably scared off by the winger's $2.35 million salary.
