Minnesota Wild: Marian Gaborik has understandably started slowly in four games since settling his contract dispute with the Wild. But Minnesota head coach Jacques Lemaire isn't going to let his star player work through it in games if Gaborik continues to misfire and let his defensive duties slip.

San Jose Sharks: San Jose GM Doug Wilson has expressed interest in acquiring restricted free agent Mike Comrie from Edmonton. But Wilson believes Oilers GM Kevin Lowe isn't in a big rush to trade the disgruntled center.

Detroit Red Wings: Steve Thomas had a lot of loose ends to tie up before making his Red Wings debut Wednesday night. But it didn't seem to affect him on the ice, where he planned to ease into action yet scored against Dallas.
