Chicago Blackhawks: Chicago's Jocelyn Thibault is going to see a hip specialist after an MRI was inconclusive. The frustrated Blackhawks goaltender hopes a few days' rest will help but he has no idea what's causing the pain.

New York Islanders: The Islanders couldn't find a trading partner, so Jason Wiemer was placed on waivers. The whole episode has disrupted a good start by the Islanders and prompted captain Michael Peca to respond to claims that he didn't get along with Wiemer.

Nashville Predators: Nashville has no trouble giving maximum effort in games against the Red Wings. Now the challenge is figuring out how to get the same energy against other foes.
