Colorado Avalanche: Colorado's Alex Tanguay is outscoring all of his higher-profile teammates and is tied for the lead in points (21) and assists (15). Maybe now the Avalanche left winger can relax and not worry about getting traded.

New York Islanders: After Islanders GM Mike Milbury was surprised that news of his meeting with Jason Wiemer leaked regarding the team's efforts to get rid of the forward, the Isles held Wiemer out of practice on Monday. Wiemer was shocked but he was more upset Monday about an unidentified player questioning his leadership in comments to Newsday.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Three consecutive losses that culminated in an embarrassing 9-0 debacle against Tampa Bay on Saturday has left Penguins head coach Eddie Olczyk searching for answers. He tried a long practice Monday to get his troops to eliminate the bad decisions and costly turnovers that has been Pittsburgh's downfall.
