  • We're told the Saints regret trading DT Martin Chase to the Redskins during the offseason instead of DT Grady Jackson, who was released last week after being suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. The Saints believe that Chase was just as good as Jackson ever was.

  • Minnesota had planned to gradually increase RB Michael Bennett's workload by 15 or 20 percent each game, with Dec. 7 as the target date for making him the starter again. But Bennett's Week 9 performance erased any doubts the Vikings had about his health. Bennett ran a 4.29 40-yard dash in practice seven days before facing Green Bay. Although he had fewer touches in a Week 10 loss to San Diego, Bennett may return to the starting lineup as early as Week 11.

  • Bills RB Willis McGahee may be on the active roster finally, but we hear he's still favoring his rehabbed leg and is not close to getting on the field for any extended duty during game time.
