A Pete Rose reinstatement? No thanks, says Gene Collier of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Until he breaks his lifetime gambling habit, he's right where he belongs.

That may not be a problem, writes T.J. Quinn of the New York Daily News. He quotes sources close to the Commissioner's office who say Rose is no closer to reinstatement than he ever was and that his recent statements about managing again rubbed Bud Selig the wrong way.
