Can Jerry West turn around the Grizzlies?

In the summer of 1996, Jerry West added Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant to a struggling Lakers team and changed the course of NBA history.

It was the stuff from which legends are forged.

This summer, West faced a similar challenge. The Memphis Grizzlies' GM needed a dominant center and a young guard to quickly turn his struggling franchise around. West's catch? Jake Tsakalidis, James Posey, Troy Bell and Dahntay Jones.

It was the stuff skeptics use to shatter legends. Had West, arguably the greatest GM in the history of the NBA, lost his famous touch?
