Detroit Red Wings: Curtis Joseph will likely make his first start of the NHL season Thursday in Nashville, but Detroit head coach Dave Lewis won't decide who his starting goalie will be until Wednesday. Joseph, who is rehabilitating from ankle surgery, had a minor-league start Friday.

Minnesota Wild: Restricted free agent Marian Gaborik is "very disappointed" with the Wild's negotiation tactics, prompting Minnesota's star player to leave the state after trying to seek a deal to get the young Slovakian star back on the ice. "They've made it clear: 'It's my way or the highway,' " Gaborik's agent, David Schatia, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Rookie goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has shown he can handle NHL shooters so far after four starts, but the Penguins say they are still evaluating their 18-year-old first overall draft pick. Fleury has six more appearances to show he doesn't need to be sent back to juniors.
