Trade winds beginning to blow
Marquee players such as Bill Guerin, Olaf Kolzig and Curtis Joseph are the subject of trade rumors.
Rumor mill starts spinning
That sky-high optimism evident in all 30 teams has begun to sink for a good portion of teams, so trade talk is starting to heat up.
The biggest rumor of the past week had Dallas sending winger Bill Guerin to Toronto, possibly along with defenseman Richard Matvichuk. The Stars would certainly like to cut a good chunk of the combined $11.066 million payroll the two will make this season, but the names being floated from the Maple Leafs on the part of media speculation don't match the value of the two Dallas players.
