Washington Capitals: Jaromir Jagr told The Washington Times that he'll play in the Russian Super League if there is a lockout or strike next season in the NHL, confirming a previous report in a Moscow paper. The Czech superstar might consider playing in the Czech Republic but his hometown team in Kladno has less appeal because it is in last place.

Minnesota Wild: Marian Gaborik's agent wouldn't offer much detail about the latest negotiations on a deal with the Minnesota Wild, but David Schatia told the St. Paul Pioneer Press there might be something to report "within the next 48 hours."

Ottawa Senators: Martin Havlat said the sore groin that bothered him during the Senators' trip to California is feeling better and he might make his season debut Thursday night against Washington. Havlat, who re-signed with the Senators on Oct. 11, practiced with Jason Spezza and Peter Schaefer as linemates.
