Washington on the wrong track

Since opening the season with a victory over the Islanders, the Capitals have gone 1-4-1 and scored only nine goals.

Slow starts are nothing new to the Capitals, but their five-game winless streak has the look like it will be the norm instead of the exception for some time to come.

Since opening the season with a 6-1 victory over the New York Islanders, the Capitals have gone 1-4-1 and scored only nine goals.

Making matters worse, Jaromir Jagr is reportedly distraught over his breakup with longtime girlfriend Andrea Veresova, a model and former Miss Slovakia. Jagr told a Czech newspaper recently that he has trouble eating or sleeping, according to The Washington Post, and reported to training camp 15 pounds lighter.
