St. Louis Blues: St. Louis is giving hockey's macho, play-hurt mentality a rest in the early stages of this season. Even with a mounting injury list, the Blues don't want players compromising their play by coming back too early from injuries.

Detroit Red Wings: Curtis Joseph will probably be the most expensive goalie in the minor leagues. The Red Wings are expected to send Joseph down to AHL Grand Rapids for a conditioning stint soon.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was a little awestruck during pregame warmups Saturday night before Pittsburgh played Detroit. But the rookie goalie made his opponents watch in awe during Fleury's first NHL victory.
