Philadelphia Flyers: Longtime Flyers defenseman Chris Therien was upset about being left unprotected for the waiver draft as Philadelphia didn't want to hold up the progress of some younger players. Now the Flyers are crossing their fingers that they won't have to keep an angry Therien after Friday.
Toronto Maple Leafs: John Ferguson Jr. has been batting 1.000 so far this summer. But with defenseman Bryan McCabe out for three to six weeks, the new Maple Leafs GM's skills will really be tested so Toronto doesn't get off to a slow start.
