NFL Mismatches in Week 5

Grudge match is the theme for this week with a number of star players or coaches playing against their former teams, including Tony Dungy taking his undefeated Colts into Tampa on Monday night to take on his former team. But the headline game of the week is a good old fashioned divisional rivalry, with playoff implications already in the air, as the undefeated Broncos take on the unbeaten Chiefs in Kansas City.

TE Tony Gonzalez vs. SS Nick Ferguson
The Chiefs Pro Bowl tight end has gotten off to a poor start to this season after being bothered by an ankle injury. He has just 10 catches so far but caught his first touchdown of the year last week. The ankle is almost back to normal, and now is the time for him to reassert himself in the Chiefs' offense. The Broncos have a couple big hitters at safety, but their starter at strong safety, Kenoy Kennedy, is questionable after going down with an ankle injury last week. Nick Ferguson, a career backup with limited range, will fill in if Kennedy can't go. If Kennedy does play, it will be on a bum ankle that will also limit the position's mobility. The Chiefs will take advantage of the defense's concentration on Priest Holmes to match up Gonzalez on a safety. The tight end should be his team's leading receiver this week.
