Dallas still seeking right combinations
Mike Modano has had success this preseason with wingers such as Brenden Morrow, Bill Guerin or Jere Lehtinen.
Tippett has been experimenting with a range of combinations and shifting centers to wings in an attempt to improve his forwards' versatility as well as seeing who clicks with whom.
"We have a lot of guys who can interchange, and I think that's a strength of this team," Tippett told The Dallas Morning News. "You can overcome injuries. And you can adhere toward different directions, whatever you feel is the best focus for you on that given night to win the game."
