Minnesota Wild: The Wild and restricted free agent Pascal Dupuis are holding firm to their stances and no resolution seems near after the team said it will negotiate performance bonuses within the framework of its $3.125 million, four-year offer. That first offer was rejected by Dupuis' agent, Allan Walsh, who is trying in vain to get a one-year deal at about $1 million.

New Jersey Devils: By embracing his role as a pest, Christian Berglund is closer to earning a job with the New Jersey Devils. "He finished his checks. He stirred things up," Devils coach Pat Burns said of the 23-year-old Swede.

Buffalo Sabres: Miroslav Satan is now the highest-paid player on the Sabres after signing a two-year, $10 million deal Monday. Getting the deal done and all players signed before the season meant the team had to give in to its scoring leader's demands.
