Dallas unable to unload veteran center

After spending the summer trying to dump him, the Stars are stuck with Pierre Turgeon.

Dallas Stars -- After spending the summer trying to dump him, the Stars are stuck with Pierre Turgeon because of the $7.5 million he stands to make this season.

Despite the team's public attempts to move him and even partially blaming him for its inability to keep unrestricted free agent defenseman Derian Hatcher, who signed with Detroit, Turgeon plans to be a good company man.

"I strongly believe I can be a good player in this league," Turgeon told The Dallas Morning News. "There were a lot of things that happened this summer with my situation and the team, but those are things that we don't control as players. What I control is on the ice. I love the game, and I want to be out there and help my team win."
