First look at trimmed-down Lemieux

Training camps have given way to exhibition games and rosters have been trimmed. Now the competition for roster spots is really heating up around the NHL. Here's a look at some notable preseason news around the league:

Dallas Stars -- After getting a taste of the NHL for 26 games last season, Dallas forward Steve Ott hungers for more in this campaign.

"I think last year was a feeling-out year," Ott told The Dallas Morning News of his rookie year that saw him score three goals and seven points and finish with a plus-6 rating and 31 penalty minutes. "And now I don't want to leave. I want to stay here for good."
