Canucks face tough exhibition slate

Training camps have given way to exhibition games and rosters have been trimmed. Now the competition for roster spots is really heating up around the NHL. Here's a look at some notable preseason news around the league:

Nashville Predators -- Injuries are complicating the battles for spots on Nashville's lineup.

Predators head coach Barry Trotz had said he would pare the roster down to 25 before Saturday night's game against Atlanta at Orlando, Fla. Defensemen Dan Hamhuis (groin) and Jason York (eye surgery) and forwards David Legwand (hip) Scott Walker (charley horse) and Jim McKenzie (knee) are the most notable players on the sideline.
