Cleveland Indians: If you saw Cliff Lee's effort
against the Red Sox and Pedro Martinez on Sunday, you
saw a pretty good trip to the hill. That outing and a
couple of others have the rookie thinking about a spot
in the rotation for 2004. Manager Eric Wedge is
impressed but guarantees nothing, reports Sheldon
Ocker of the Akron Beacon Journal. Lee understands
this fully. "A guy like me -- I'm a rookie -- nobody
is going to guarantee me anything. I have to come back
and prove that I can pitch."
