Chicago Bears: WR Marty Booker has caught 197 passes over the last two year, but so far
he's been a forgotten man in the Bears' offense. Booker has a grand total of
eight catches for 58 yards, which puts him on pace for 64 catches. He's not
yet calling for QB Kordell Stewart's head on a stick, but he's not
particularly pleased with his use, or lack thereof. "I don't have anything
to do with calling the plays or where [Stewart] gets the reads or where he
wants to go, I have nothing to do with that," Booker told the Chicago
Tribune. "There's nothing different. It's not like I'm seeing a lot of
double teams or anything. I don't know. I'm still trying to figure that out
too." In Stewart's defense, he's been spreading the ball around. Of the
Bears 57 pass attempts, 14 of those have been directed toward Booker.
Sixteen have been intended for WR Dez White, 10 for new TE Desmond Clark and
eight for WR David Terrell. Also a factor is that the Bears' offense lack
of field time. No NFC team has run fewer than Chicago's 102 plays.
