  • Suddenly, a buzz is going around about the Red Sox. Might this finally be the year they get over the hump? (And wouldn't it be ironic if they met the Cubs in the Series?) Thomas Boswell of the Washington Post weighs in with a very entertaining column regarding this very subject.

  • He has been their best player and Michael Hunt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel does not wish to see him leave town. Aside from being a damn fine hitter, Richie Sexson shows up for work and stays on the job. He hasn't missed an inning all season and Hunt would like to see the Brewers make every effort possible to re-sign the free agent.

  • How about Jorge Posada for American League MVP? Joel Sherman of the New York Post argues that he should at least be under consideration. If nothing else, he argues, he has proved himself to be the team MVP.
