Keep an eye on Jets RB Curtis Martin, who seemed to be running very
tentatively vs. the Redskins. Though it's just one game, there are
increasing whispers that maybe he has not completely bounced back from the
nagging ankle and knee injuries that hampered him in 2002, especially given
the lack of reps Martin got in the preseason to rest his legs.
The Cowboys reportedly are interested in bringing in some veteran OL help,
and the name Jumbo Elliott -- an old Bill Parcells standby -- has been floated
around the team's facility recently.
There has been speculation that Panthers PK John Kasay's relationship with
owner Jerry Richardson may have helped him keep his job, considering that
there was little difference during the preseason between him and the younger
and cheaper Shayne Graham, who was cut by the team in late August.
