Offseason spending paying dividends

Offense sells tickets, but defense wins championships. That pithy proverb has been a staple of football conversations for years, mainly because it has merit. Last year, the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks were all offensive powerhouses, yet none was able to reach the postseason or even post a winning record. So during the offseason each team focused on defense, adding the personnel necessary to turn a glaring weakness into a strength.
