The CIAA swept the SIAC while the MEAC topped the SWAC, 2-1, in interconference matchups over the weekend.

North Carolina Central and Winston-Salem State picked up victories to avenge opening day losses by Virginia Union and Elizabeth City State. The season series record is tied at 2-2.

In a battle of running backs, NCCU's Lawrence Fuller rushed for a touchdown and career-high 131 yards to lead the Eagles to a 31-24 victory over Morehouse in Durham. Eagle wide receiver Maurice Glenn also had a career night with 4 catches for 67 yards and two TDs.
