Dorrell set for debut as UCLA coach

In his first game as a head coach, UCLA's Karl Dorrell will lead his alma mater against Colorado, the place he got his first big coaching break as the Buffaloes offensive coordinator under Rick Neuheisel. It almost brings a tear to the eye -- almost. "I haven't had a chance to get sentimental," Dorrell said. "I know it's going to be emotional." Dorrell might be more worried about the Buffaloes surprisingly potent offense, which piled up 504 yards in a 42-35 victory over Colorado State, including 402 yards passing and four touchdowns from new quarterback Joel Klatt. Colorado bullied the Bruins last year, rushing for 325 yards in a 31-17 victory. But the UCLA defense appears stout, with seven starters back from one of the Pac-10's better units.
