Lorenzo Booker rushed for 87 yards on Saturday, providing just the change of pace Bobby Bowden was looking for.
While Wisconsin quarterback Jim Sorgi made the necessary throws (20-of-34, 215 yds., 1 TD) in leading the Badgers to a critical, 24-17 come-from-behind victory over West Virginia, it was the outstanding performance of the defense, especially in the fourth quarter, that made the win possible. Linebacker and special teams standout Alex Lewis proved to be a difference-maker throughout the contest and blocked a punt for touchdown.
