The season hasn't even started but Indians' coach Steve Jacobs may already have broken a record. In a feat of depth-chart dexterity difficult to fathom, Jacobs listed five -- yes, five -- co-starters at tailback heading into Saturday's game at Texas A&M.
Perhaps he's trying to counter the uncertainty coming from the other side, with Dennis Franchione entering his first game in College Station. But the main reason for the crowd at the top, Jacobs said, is that he's not sure what formation he'll open the game in, and so specialized are his backs that any have a chance to be on the field for the first series.
