Dallas Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki has fallen. But luckily for the Dallas Mavs, he was able to get up. "It's a mild sprain, sort of a seven to 10 day injury," said Donnie Nelson, Mavericks president of basketball operations, to the Dallas Morning News. "He's already been up walking on it." Nowitzki twisted the ankle while competing in the European Championships for his home country of Germany. But don't tell that to Mavs owner Mark Cuban. "International competition is a for-profit big business," Mavs owner Mark Cuban said. "Why we as a league offer up our most valuable players is beside me. It's the equivalent of Microsoft paying Bill Gates to do promotions for and sell Linux software. The reality, though, is that because of the agreement struck between FIBA [the international governing body for basketball] and the NBA, I don't have a say in most scenarios."
