Tampa Bay Buccaneers: K Martin Gramatica hasn't practiced since before the Aug. 8 game against
Miami because of a groin and hamstring strain, but that should all change
today. The plan is to ease Gramatica, who set team records last season for
field goals (32), field goal attempts (39) and points (128), back into
workouts. "We'll see what Coach [Jon Gruden] has to say, but I think I'll
just be kicking field goals today," Gramatica told the Tampa Tribune.
Detroit Lions: WR Az-Zahir Hakim has successfully recovered from the dislocated hip he
suffered last year, but now a different ailment could cause him to miss time
this season. A "loose body" was removed from Hakim's knee during an
arthroscopic procedure Monday, jeopardizing his availability for the season opener. "It's a tune-up, a Jiffy Lube," coach Steve Mariucci told the Detroit News. "Hopefully, he'll be back by the first game (Sept. 7)."
