During two-a-days in 2000, QB Rod Rutherford was struggling so badly that he told an assistant coach he wanted to switch to wideout. "But don't tell Coach Harris yet," he said. Yeah, right. Twenty minutes later, as he walked to practice, a golf cart screeched to a halt beside him. Out stepped Walt Harris, who got right to the point. "I want you at quarterback," Harris said to the man he's called his most important recruit. "Focus on that." Lucky for Rutherford he heeded the advice; he'd have been one sorry receiver watching someone else lead this offense. "We have a lot of talent," Harris says. "But Rod's the guy."
