LAST SEASON: 9-4 (5-3 SEC)

Tommy Tuberville is still rehabbing after two off-season neck surgeries. His team, on the other hand, is in fine fettle, with enough depth and talent to win the SEC -- and maybe more. Auburn's schedule is harder than a Jordan-Hare girder (seven bowl teams, plus Bama and I-AA champ Western Kentucky), but the Tigers are built for the long haul. They're two-deep almost everywhere -- and four-deep at running back. The conga line is led by Cadillac Williams and 1,000-yard rusher Ronnie Brown, but Iron Bowl hero Tre Smith and juco god Brandon Jacobs (3,032 yards as a prep senior) are more than able subs.
