Cardinals' speedsters yet to emerge

A completely renovated passing game has led to the biggest, at least in terms of overall numbers, training camp position battle in the league. The Cardinals would love for two of their speed receivers to win both starting jobs to better exploit Jeff Blake's famed deep ball and open up the running game for all-time rushing leader Emmitt Smith. But so far, the best three receivers have all been possession types.

The coaches are hoping young defenders improve their play to better last year's 29th-ranked unit. Once again the team spent very little money in free agency with the only big-money signing being Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson at safety. The recent season-ending injury to defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch is a big hit to a thin line, and a deep linebacking corps has a couple of starting spots up for grabs.
