Fans in Atlanta feeling optimistic
On the eight previous occasions in which Atlanta registered a winning record, the club always failed to build on the momentum. The collective records in the years following winning seasons was 44-80, an anemic winning percentage of just .355, and the best the Falcons ever accomplished after a season on the black side of the ledger book was a 7-7 mark in 1972. The last two times the Falcons were above the break-even point, the club followed up their success with just three and five wins, respectively.
