Green, not QBs, key to Browns season

If there is one story that's dominating the media in Cleveland, it' the
burgeoning quarterback controversy. In fact, there is a national interest
in who will get the call to lead one of the league's most storied
franchises.
And why not? It's the classic case of David versus Goliath. Tim Couch was
the first pick for the Browns in their first year back in the NFL. After
three years under admittedly less than ideal circumstances, he's yet to
become one of the better young quarterbacks in the game, whereas his
counterpart Kelly Holcomb was never even drafted.
Things came to a head last year when Holcomb threw for 429 yards in
a wildcard playoff loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Holcomb had
performed exceedingly well in his two starts during the season and edgy fans
wanted to see a change made.
