  • The big key to the White Sox the last few weeks has been Magglio Ordonez and Paul Konerko. Neither one did much in the first half. I'm not sure Ordonez was totally healthy in the first half. But he's always had that great bat speed and lately I've seen him taking the ball the other way more. He's just so strong. With Konerko, his swing was messed up for the first few months. It was like he was always in-between the fastball and breaking ball and he was really struggling. Now he's getting back to where he was, and his swing is more compact. I think (the All-Star) break was really good for him. The fans were all over him and he was pressing.
