Vermeil has Chiefs poised for playoff run

The Kansas City Chiefs have the look and feel of a playoff team. After two seasons of prep, Dick Vermeil has built the type of team he envisioned when he took the job in 2001. The offense is potent. The defense looks quicker and could improve into the top 20 or better. The chemistry and work ethic is well ahead of the third-year Rams team Vermeil used to beat the Titans in the Super Bowl in 1999.
The biggest question is whether everything can fall into place for the Chiefs to make the playoffs and go to the Super Bowl. "I think it's going to be a good football team, but it depends on how many good football teams you have to play," Vermeil said.
