Detroit Red Wings: Dominik Hasek is back and Curtis Joseph is in limbo, so where does that leave Detroit's No. 3 goalie, Manny Legace? Spending another season providing solid backup goaltending while waiting for a chance to prove he can be a No. 1 netminder.
Minnesota Wild: Marc Chouinard had two things the Wild liked, size and faceoff skills. Now the 26-year-old former Mighty Duck has a chance to prove he can be more than a fourth-line center with Minnesota, which has a history of uncovering hidden gems.
New Jersey Devils: With a number of changes on its blue line, New Jersey couldn't afford a long contract battle with defenseman Colin White. But the Devils could afford to give White a two-year contract the 25-year-old defenseman liked, according to the New York Post.
