Despite being voted to the Pro Bowl twice while having five different offensive coordinators in his eight-year career in Pittsburgh, Kordell Stewart has never been accused of being a quick study. So when reports surfaced that he was a little slow on the uptake learning yet a new offense with the Chicago Bears, the midway faithful were sure that this would be a long season.

But if Stewart's new teammates have a message for their fans in 2003, it's 'don't believe the hype.' The word out of training camp is that Stewart is on the same page.

''It's been said, I don't know why, that he hasn't been picking up the offense,'' wide receiver Marty Booker told the Chicago Sun-Times. ''He's been looking pretty good. Of course, he is going to struggle a little in minicamp, and he came back in the June camp and everything was being picked up. It's looking good right now.''
