Stewart ahead of QB game in Chicago

Despite being voted to the Pro Bowl twice while having five different
offensive coordinators in his eight-year career in Pittsburgh, Kordell
Stewart has never been accused of being a quick study. So when reports
surfaced that he was a little slow on the uptake learning yet a new offense
with the Chicago Bears, the midway faithful were sure that this would be a
long season.
But if Stewart's new teammates have a message for their fans in 2003, it's
'don't believe the hype.' The word out of training camp is that Stewart is
on the same page.
''It's been said, I don't know why, that he hasn't been picking up the
offense,'' wide receiver Marty Booker told the Chicago Sun-Times. ''He's
been looking pretty good. Of course, he is going to struggle a little in
minicamp, and he came back in the June camp and everything was being picked
up. It's looking good right now.''
