Chicago White Sox: It's not Jerry Manuel's fault that
Paul Konerko is hitting like a pitcher, but Konerko
wasn't around to boo last night during the All-Star
Game introductions so Chicago fans let Manuel know
they weren't pleased with the team's current standing.
It appeared that general manager Kenny Williams was
putting Manuel on the spot on Monday when he suggested
the team had better get off to a good start after the
break. Yesterday, team owner Jerry Reinsdorf qualified
those statements so that it is known that the manager
is not in a hot-seat situation. Teddy Greenstein of
the Chicago Tribune has the story.
