Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Michael Pittman episode has once again sent the Bucs scurrying for a feature back. Perhaps the team's front office should have listened more closely to head coach Jon Gruden in the spring, when Gruden lobbied for the signing of Stephen Davis and later Emmitt Smith. With Pittman facing jail time and NFL suspension because of his arrest May 31 on assault charges, the defending Super Bowl champions have no idea who will start at tailback this season.

Baltimore Ravens: While the Ravens continue to work to sign their 11 draft picks, the futures of two veterans -- cornerback Chris McAlister and defensive end Michael McCrary -- will be addressed before the team reports to training camp on July 27. McAlister, the team's franchise player, is expected to sign a one-year, $5.9 million tender before camp, but is seeking a multi-year extension. As for McCracy, who has been contemplating retirement for the past two months, the team confirmed it is not willing to pay his $3 million salary this season. The likely scenario is for Baltimore to release the 10-year veteran, meaning he could re-sign with the Ravens or another team whenever he is ready to play.
